LED Truck Billboards

Three billboard trucks circled the courthouse. The DEATH BY DENIALS truck was sponsored by PoPNYC

The JURY NULLIFICATION truck was a collaboration between PoPNYC and Citizens for Jury Empowerment

The use of billboard trucks during rallies and protests allows us to push back against media narratives manufactured by corporate interests. On Feb 21st, three billboard trucks circled the courthouse during Luigi Mangione’s court appearance. Two of them were paid for by PoPNYC.

From the Courthouse to Times Square

After circling the courthouse until around 3:30pm, the trucks went on a tour of NYC, maximizing visibility by hitting popular hotspots, including Times Square.

Initial designs for both trucks were rendered as still images. For the DEATH BY DENIALS truck, the QR code links back to PoPNYC's healthcare page where viewers can read in-depth information about denial rates as well as learn the personal stories of those featured on the trucks. 

For the JURY NULLIFICATION truck, PoPNYC collaborated with Citizens for Jury Empowerment. The initial still image design was rendered by a PoPNYC volunteer into a video.
